A former US Army interrogator, Dr. Hupp has over 25 years of experience in mental and behavioral health working with Veterans and those with special needs. Dr. Hupp has extensive experience working with those with sensory impairment, especially visual-impairments or blindness, those with developmental disorders, and those with a history of Traumatic Brain Injury. He is experienced in assessing criminal competency, forensic neuropsychology, and disability determinations.
Currently in private practice, Dr. Hupp is a former director for a brain and spinal cord injury post-acute rehabilitation center, disability evaluator for the Veteran’s Administration and Social Security Administration, and psychological consultant and provider to numerous state agencies. He has been affiliated faculty and a clinical supervisor with the University of Texas at San Antonio and Texas A&M University at Central Texas. As a veteran, Dr. Hupp has brought a unique perspective to working with active duty military, veterans, military families, and those with special needs. From both a personal and professional level, Dr. Hupp has experienced the effects of and worked with survivors of two different mass shootings events in the Killeen, Texas community. This experience, combined with his current work in threat assessment profiling and criminal psychology, gives him a unique perspective on identifying those with the potential to commit these acts.
